The Church

The wedding will be at St. Michael’s Church, Bray, where the Reverend Richard Cowles will marry us at 12.30pm on Friday 26th June 2015.

It is a stunning church, built originally in 1293, by Queen Margaret the wife of Edward I, and it serves the Parishes of Bray and Braywood, Holyport and Moneyrow Green, Fifield, Touchen End, Stud and Oakley.

Bray itself has a very small car park, and a great many double yellow lines, but we have been able to ‘hire’ the Village Green for the morning of the 26th June, so that you can park your car there. With the church on your right, you continue along the High Street for a couple of yards, and will be signed onto the Green on the left.

After the service, you will turn right onto the High Street, and take the second left which is Old Mill Lane, and signed to Monkey Island.

We’ve chosen Monkey Island because we both loved it on sight, and wanted to share it with you. A centuries-old retreat hidden on a private island in the River Thames at Bray, the only access to it is via a footbridge, boat or helicopter if you have one!  The Grade II listed buildings are surrounded by beautiful gardens, and of course river views.

When you first arrive there will be drinks and canapés in the garden (weather permitting) or the Terrace Bar. The wedding breakfast will take place in The Pavilion Restaurant, and will then move into The River Room for the evening reception from 6.30pm. A hog roast will be served to all our evening guests.
